Made in sterling silver, with oxidization and silver
gilding, these two life size Mute Swans were designed and overseen from conception, creation to completion by Neil, one of which is on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
Working from sketches, precise measurements and photos were taken from wild swans. Neil created a model prototype from which templates were made in silver and then assembled. Neil made each flight feather individually, as a template and were inserted to create realism.
On the left are a pair of Shell on reed bowls both on a malachite base, a Chinousery octagonal Tea set and a large incense burner.
